Abstract

The first positive case of COVID-19 infection in South Sulawesi was announced on March 20, 2020. Since then, new cases of COVID-19 have begun to increase fluctuatively with an increasing trend. Various anticipatory steps to reduce the spread of COVID-19, including the appeal of physical distancing, the enactment of Work From Home (WFH), the closure of shopping centers and tourist attractions, and the use of masks.
As a State Institution assigned to present statistics, BPS also strives to take a role in responding to the current precarious situation by producing additional statistics to support efforts to accelerate the handling of the COVID-19 Pandemic.
South Sulawesi Province BPS took the role by making the publication of the South Sulawesi COVID-19 Impact Demographic Social Survey 2020 which aims to provide information to stakeholders, in order to prepare plans and quick and strategic steps in dealing with this pandemic, both for prevention, countermeasures and recovery.
